PantryChef is designed around offline use and on-device storage.
Information processed
Ingredients, quantities, locations, expiry dates, cookware, recipes, steps, tags, shopping lists, and recipe text or URLs you choose to import are stored on your device by default. The current version requires no account.
Apple services
Apple processes purchases through StoreKit and provides product and entitlement status to the app; we do not receive full payment-card details. With permission, the app schedules local notifications on your device.
URL imports and external websites
When you import a recipe from a URL, the app downloads the page directly from the website you provide and parses it on your device. That website receives ordinary network information such as your IP address, device network information, and a PantryChef identifier. The developer operates no intermediary server and does not retain the downloaded page.
Sharing and tracking
The current version has no PantryChef backend. We do not sell personal information, show third-party ads, or use cross-app tracking SDKs.
Your choices
You can edit or delete records, export a JSON copy, disable notifications, or remove the app to erase local app data. Backups saved elsewhere remain under your control.
